Our Classes

Junior

Our junior program is for participants 12 and under, with all classes co-ed.

Activities are designed to teach basic judo movement, and of course be lots of fun!

Senior

Our Senior program is for participants 13 and older, with all classes co-ed.

The class is taught by Sensei Huntley and focuses on the art of judo, functional exercises, and includes self-defense movements.

Quality Instruction

At Aberdeen Judo Academy, we've been teaching official Kodokan Judo for all ages and skill levels since 1987. Our instructors have taken the National Coaching Certification Program and are experienced in teaching Judo.

Every class is designed to teach important lessons on Judo with a custom made schedule for every practice and knowledgeable feedback for everyone.

Experience

Sensei John Huntley began Aberdeen Judo Academy in Kamloops in 1987 and has been teaching judo ever since. He has attained the rank of seventh degree black belt.

An international level competitor, Sensei Huntley has studied judo for over sixty years and brings all aspects of judo to the mat insuring the highest quality instruction.

Safety

At Aberdeen Judo Academy, we pride ourselves on our safety record. We insure everyone remains safe by teaching the proper application of judo.

Our instructors are adept in First Aid skills, though rarely need to use them, as we make sure to teach all beginners their break-falls and ensure everyone knows how to apply their skills safely.
